Bring me the thing you can't think your way through.

Sometimes you can feel that something new is emerging before you have language for it.

You may be at a crossroads. A relationship may be changing. Something about work, money, safety, belonging or identity may no longer fit the way it once did.

You can feel it asking for something. You just can't quite see what yet.

A woman wearing a denim top is sitting at a desk, gesturing at a computer screen. Her young daughter is playing in a pile of papers at her feet.

You can know where you're going and still feel unable to get there.

Sometimes the problem isn't a lack of vision, discipline or talent. You've probably already turned this over many times. You've made the lists, talked it through and weighed every option.

Often the shape of your life was built for yesterday's you. Or perhaps it never really fit you in the first place.

There are moments in life when thinking can only take us so far.

In those moments, I like to listen differently.

Somatic inquiry is a way of paying attention to what your body already knows. We slow down and notice what happens when you bring the question to mind: where something tightens, where something softens, which images, memories or words arrive on their own. Rather than analyzing those signals, we treat them as information and follow them.

It's less like solving a problem and more like letting it speak up.

What this has looked like

➹

Animal medicine cards for heart and mind wisdom, delivered with care to a client in the middle of a divorce

⎙

A budgeting app that works with a client’s neurology and addresses relational needs inside money conversations

➿

Breath and body awareness practices to connect sensation, awareness and next steps inside a published work

Together, we make room beyond ordinary thinking.

Together, we notice what's emerging.

Together, we give what we discover somewhere to grow.

Most sessions open something meaningful: a truth becomes clearer, a pattern comes into focus or the next step becomes easier to take.

This may be for you if…

  • You're in the middle of a change and can't yet name what it's asking of you.

  • You've thought it through from every angle and still feel stuck.

  • You suspect your body or intuition knows something your mind hasn't caught up to.

  • You want a spacious, unhurried place to listen.

It may not be the right fit if you're looking for someone to hand you a quick answer or decide for you. Somatic inquiry isn't therapy. If you're in crisis, a licensed therapist or crisis line is the right place to start.

Hi, I'm Amanda.

I'm a trained editor, publishing advisor and certified meditation teacher. For most of my working life, I've been listening for what sits underneath the surface of a piece of writing, a business or a person.

Life has given me another kind of education, too. I was raised in charismatic Christian environments, earned my journalism degree from Baylor University, spent years learning alongside Orthodox and Roman Catholic communities, and became a meditation instructor in the Shambhala tradition. I became a mother while living on the side of a Colorado mountain, where I also had to rediscover my own life through the vulnerability of a late autism diagnosis. That's where I learned how much the body knows before the mind does.

I draw from meditation, systems design, somatic inquiry, imagination, symbolism and a longtime study of the world's wisdom traditions. I'm stubbornly curious and still guided by something my grandmother told me countless times:

“What is real can’t be threatened.”

There is more here.

Bring me the place where there's friction, longing or momentum you want to understand. We'll slow down enough to hear what is pushing up to the surface and I'll bring resources to help you work productively with your next steps.

Your first session is $250 for 60 minutes. There's no package to buy and no commitment to continue. Follow-up sessions are $150 for 45 minutes, whenever they'd be useful.
